Experiment

I am going to experiment with something new: I am going to pray. This may seem somewhat awkward because I do not hold belief in any gods or supernatural forces. However, I do feel that if I were to share my troubles with an imaginary friend, I would feel much less stress. Basically, I am trying to use one of the benefits of religion without being religious.

I'm not sure. Joe, perhaps?

Hmm...that leaves a lot of people. Are you someone from the Online Debate Network?

Hmm...you've obviously been on recently. I'll guess (based on the name Monster Mash) that you are Andacanavar (aka Chris). Am I right?

Ooh, a dead giveaway. You are Godlesspagan.

How's it been going lately?

Wow, that comment could have been a blog entry by itself, and I guess this one will be the same way.

My condolences go out to you for your loss. The biggest loss I've experienced was the loss of my maternal grandmother six years and a day ago. I was 11, so I don't think it was as bad for me as you must be feeling.

As for ODN, I think I will be quitting once college starts. As you can see, I've been accepted at Lawrence and wait-listed and University of Chicago and Grinnell. I really hope that I can go to University of Chicago, though if I don't, Lawrence is just fine. However, I think I've found an end to ODN's use. It broadened by perspective for a bit, but now, after hearing the same opinions over and over, I think its time to call it quits.

Mrs_innocent said that she'll quit come June, so Apok will have to remodel the staff, but I'm sure he's up to the task. I had suspected that you planned on leaving permanently when you hadn't logged on for half a month.

As for the powder keg, I think it will smolder out. Clive is already mellowing. Not that it will matter once I'm gone.

Well, good luck to you in tying up loose ends and thanks for being as good an online friend as I've had.
